In recent years, crowdfunding emerged as an alternative source of startup funds generating almost $10B of seed funds. Host, Mark Norige, will review the basics of crowdfunding and moderate a discussion with experts on similarities of alternative and traditional capital investment approaches. Attend to learn how popular crowdfunding options work and if any are right for your business. Host Mark Norige is the Principal and CEO of the Board Forum, a successful CEO peer advisory firm and Chief Executive Manager of CHP LLC, an early stage medicinal products company. He also advises early-stage businesses and is an Advisory Board member of Mansfield Bio-Incubator. Mark brings 30 plus years of business leadership experience helping small to mid-size companies grow revenue and profits by conducting analysis of their business and guides them to develop strategies and execution plans to achieve their desired results. Prior to the Board Forum, Mark worked in a variety of leadership roles for both early-stage and Fortune 300 global companies including; Texas Instruments, Waters, Millipore, and Harvard Bioscience along with several early-stage investor backed firms. He is an adjunct professor in the graduate program in innovation and entrepreneurship at Brown University and earned his B.S. from UMASS and a Babson College MBA.

Guest Lily Macomber’s career spans various startups including non-profits and educational institutions such as MIT’s all in support of entrepreneurs and The Startup Network. She holds a BA from Providence College and is currently working on her MBA from Babson College. Guest Ilonna J. Rimm, MD, PhD, CFA advises Life Science CEO’s who are raising a Series A round of capital. She was instrumental in raising a $17M Series A financing for Immuneering Corporation in December of 2019. Dr. Rimm’s previous financing and investment experience includes: Trillium Asset Management, Lazard Capital Markets, Leerink Swann and Company, and Oxford Bioscience Partners. She has pharmaceutical company experience from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. She is a Harvard-trained physician-scientist, with extensive experience in Oncology (Pediatric Hematology/Oncology) and Immunology.
